In collaboration with the Human Rights Clinic of Healthright International (an NGO based in New York City), in January 2017, I launched an Asylum Project at Derner Institute, Adelphi University. Assisted by a foundation grant, in coordination with Healthright Human Rights Clinic (https://healthright.org/where-we-work/united-states/), for whom I have been providing evaluations since 2005, and for whom I am a trainer, we have trained Derner faculty and doctoral students to provide evaluations for asylum applicants, to write legal affidavits, and to testify in immigration proceedings on behalf of clients. In 2024, when the Human Rights Clinic closed due to lack of funding, we began a new affiliaiton with Physicians for Human Rights [https://phr.org/issues/asylum-and-persecution/phr-asylum-program/]
