Maya Holcomb

Maya K. Holcomb (she/her) is a doctoral student at the Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University. She earned a B.S. In Psychology with a concentration in Psychobiology and a minor in Black Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2021. After completing her undergraduate degree, Maya worked in psychiatric research focused on children/adolescents involved in the criminal-legal system and currently works as a Research Coordinator on large-scale federally funded studies with vulnerable populations. She is particularly interested in racial trauma, critical consciousness, subject formation, and suicide risk identification, with an emphasis on decolonial approaches that bridge research and practice.
