Joshua is a doctoral student in clinical psychology in his 3rd year at Adelphi University. Currently, he is an extern at the New York Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. Previously, he externed at a Veterans Affairs hospital. He is deeply committed to the principles of psychoanalysis, and strives to help his patients become their most authentic selves by accessing their core feelings. For his doctoral dissertation, he is working on conducting qualitative interviews with combat veterans on their life narratives. In his research, he is particularly interesting in the meanings with which people imbue their experiences, and the cohesive stories that emerge when people gather the strands of their lives.
